We're working on new Minecraft and STEAM challenges. Our plan is to post a new challenge every few days. Your job if you choose to accept it is to accomplish the challenge and share pictures of your creation. Be sure to work with your parents and get their permission before sharing your work.

Stuck at Home Build Challenge #1
Zombie Dance Party was one of my favorite labs from our first book Unofficial Minecraft Lab for Kids. I imagined it was late at night and the zombies are wobbling around on the dance floor. To make the labs in our books I had to learn new techniques. For this lab I explored redstone clocks. I'm fascinated by redstone and the power the game offers with red stone.

How have you used redstone?
Did you notice the torches in the zombie disco balls hanging from the ceiling? Did you notice the pistons that were to resemble a DJ station, perhaps turntables?
I challenge you to build a better dance floor. Maybe use newer blocks? Maybe make the dance floor more interactive? Maybe include other mobs, not just zombies?
If you don't have our books, no problem you can get a great preview on Amazon and Google Books.

Once you've designed and built a dance floor share pictures that can be shared with other Minecrafter fans. Be sure to check with your parents. In fact ask your parents if they have been to a discotheque, maybe they can offer some design ideas.

Email your pictures to info@wovenlearning.org -I check this email all the time and will be waiting for your builds.

As a bonus, I've included never before seen image of my original dance party. This picture made me very uncomfortable to be so close to the greenie meanies.

Can't wait to see your builds!
